Understanding that our life is the result of chemical triggers is far more important than digging into our triggers. To solidify your understanding of triggers, let’s just take a look at triggers in relation to life experience. Can you think of a positive chemical trigger, something that causes happiness in your life? It can be anything, a time of year, food you like or even a specific moment when you experienced with joy.
This response will be awarded full points automatically, but it can be reviewed and adjusted after submission.
What sensory information is the cause of this trigger? Don’t worry about the memory right now. In the future, we will be addressing memory or the senses specifically but, for now, we are just trying to make a connection between our senses and the experiences we have of life. It is common for us to blame the world around us for our reaction to it, but that world is happening for everyone. If you trigger, you’re having a specific relation to the world others are not. So, what is the sense behind this positive trigger? Is it something you see, feel, hear, smell or sometimes even taste?
This response will be awarded full points automatically, but it can be reviewed and adjusted after submission.
Can you see the connection? Can you see how the initial trigger is the cause of your thoughts, mood or even your opinion of who you are?

If you are doing your practices before bed, review your day and see if you can make connections between your mood or thoughts and the sensory experiences of your day. I recommend doing this for a few days before moving onto the next exercise. Try contemplating your day before going to bed each night and take notes of what you find significant. Allow yourself time to conceptually saturate yourself with this concept. If you can recognize the senses in even your best or worse experiences, it will go a long way to helping you make the most of this program.
Enter notes on your days below. You can save the entry by clicking “Finish Questions for Contemplation.” A blank field will be available for you tomorrow.
When you feel you understand the concept, you can move on to Lesson Three – The Fight-or-Flight Trigger. For additional help along the way, remember to check our Articles and Videos page for new articles and live Brain Hacks. Congratulations! Remember to keep going.
I look forward to connecting with you along the way.
