Now that we’ve examined all of the established relationships of our lives, let’s explore the other end of the spectrum. What is your definition of an Acquaintance and at what level does an acquaintance have the opportunity to become a friend? Draw a clear definition around Acquaintances. What does the relationship mean to you?
This response will be awarded full points automatically, but it can be reviewed and adjusted after submission.
Looking at your life, can you name ten Acquaintances, can you name twenty? Are you more likely to have more Friends or Acquaintances? Have you ever considered separating the two?
This response will be awarded full points automatically, but it can be reviewed and adjusted after submission.
On the other end of the concept of Acquaintances, what is it that separates them from Strangers? At what point do you decide someone is no longer a Stranger? How do you progress from Stranger to Acquaintance? What is the transition of the relationship from one to the other?
This response will be awarded full points automatically, but it can be reviewed and adjusted after submission.
Spend time today contemplating your definition of Acquaintance and add it to your journal. Be sure to create clear lines of definition. At what point does a person move from Stranger to Acquaintance and at what point does an Acquaintance become a Friend? Once you’ve created your definitions, see if you can think of a handful of acquaintances you know. Add them to your journal with a note of what you think might become of the relationship. Do you think it will progress, stay where it is, or maybe dissipate? Again, no judgment, just observation.
This response will be awarded full points automatically, but it can be reviewed and adjusted after submission.
